Many points about the method of insurrection, ideas of revolution, organizational forms, and how to develop methods inside anarchist situations and outside in non-anarchist situations are brought to question in this essay. Though I do not necessarily agree with the idea of a movement. I do see anarchists being so few, which I feel is a reality one lives with daily in the United States. How can one individual or few individuals acting together push each tension in a situation whilst at the same time not waiting for the masses or exploited?
With this in mind, one’s actions need to be precise and strategic, one’s critiques of the current form of capitalism (a liberal social democracy run by a black president having an image of a less dominating form) razor sharp, and one’s ability to engage in social struggles outside of the milieu that can be experimented with conflictualy, rather than in recuperative ways. By this specifically in action not empty words.
How much did we let a crisis run by us? How much of an affect and effect could points of intervention been in that situation (or any situation)? Did the potential, from a large scale anti-police riot become drowned by the inability to make connections nationally through acts of solidarity locally? And how can comrades joined under the label of conspiracy by the state be turned against power through ones own acts?
Its time to give up on waiting and take up ones choice of weapon against the current world, and to begin to realize that these widening moments of insurrection are always possible. This is not meant to be a “road map out” but a point of reference for our situation presently.
Strike fierce and hit hard.
